Question

People talk a lot about Jacques Lacan, a french philosopher, and psychoanalyst when it comes to desire.
"Humans desire the desires of others."
In other words, it is said that one's desire does not originate from within one's own inner self but is unwittingly injected by others through social relationships.
In other words, my desires are other people's desires.
For example, it is explained that a student desires to enter a prestigious university since they mistake their parents' desire for their own desire.
Advertisements using this psychology are said to instill the illusion that "that luxury bag is my desire."
If I listen to Seuseungnim's lectures now, desire is an action of God.
So, I wonder whether mistaking other's desires as our own has a relation with some gods and souls.

Answer

As I said earlier, you can discern what happens to you as agreed or desire depending on how your environment is created, however, what happens now is what is happening to you right now.
It happens as much as you are equipped, but the issue is whether wanting to have something itself is a desire or an idea that arises on your own for yourself.
Your emotion of wanting to have it when you see something good is not a desire; it is natural.
But, if you want to use that good thing, you have to have a cause to use it.
You need the cause to use it if you want to use it alone while no one else is using it.
What happens if you use it for no reason?
You can use it now, but you must put it back later on.
If you carry a bag just because others carry one, you might think it looks good on you,
but you will return to where you look ugly.
Why? It is because nature put it back in place that people who lack their quality have done.
You can have a lot of money because you wanted it, but nature is watching now what you are doing with it.
God, what I call nature, is watching you.
God is not talking about us as gods, but God (Grand Nature).
God is always looking at how you are doing,
and he sends other things (or people) to take it away if you don’t use it properly but keep managing it.
So, you cannot achieve it even if you have greed.
You can achieve it for a short time as Grand Nature allows it because you wanted it.
But if you don’t do it over time, nature takes it away.
You will show your ugly self while going to go in place when nature takes it away.
Therefore, people who have these things should be the people who constantly strive for society.
If you work hard for society rather than for a person, this is a higher quality effort.
If you do something like this, nature never gets rid of it.
It will give you more.
So, it doesn’t mean that society makes the desire it is happening while society develops.
When you don’t do what you have to do while encountering these things, you will face difficulties again while returning to your place.
So you can be a little greedy. Can you progress without greed?
But after having greed, what should you do in your position?
But you should have studied the basics.
If you have five buildings, what should you do at that status?
You should have studied the basics and had them,
so you could find something to do there and try something.
Nature gives you that time.
So if you do your work well, nature gives you a bigger building, even ten buildings.
If you manage well and are good at activities, why does it take them away?
If it is given to other people, they will not be able to manage it well.
So God makes the people who manage it.
You say that they are greedy because you don’t receive what you want.
But God entrusts them because they manage it the best.
This is different from desire.
It seems that we humans have desire and greed, but such an environment arises for us to grow naturally.
This is how it works.
